Definition: | a system for determining the tristimulus values of any spectral power distribution using the set of reference colour stimuli [X10], [Y10], [Z10] and the three CIE colourmatching functions adopted by the CIE in 1964
NOTE 1 – This standard colorimetric system is applicable to centrally-viewed fields of angular subtenses greater than about 4° (0.07 rad).
NOTE 2 – When this system is used, all symbols that represent colorimetric measures are distinguished by use of the subscript 10.
NOTE 3 – Values of Y10 are not proportional to luminances.
