Definition: EES system duty cycle comprising four controlled phases: a charge phase, then a pause, then a discharge phase and then another pause

Note 1 to entry: The patterns of the charge and discharge phases are generally linear (constant active power); however, different patterns are also possible. In the figure, energy losses and self-discharge are not considered. E2 = 0 (so it is not represented in the figure), E4 = 0 (so it is not represented in the figure). t2 = 0 or t4 = 0 are possible options.

Key

t1duration of the charge phase
E1energy measured at the primary POC during the charge phase
t2duration of the pause after charge
t3duration of the discharge phase
E3energy measured at the primary POC during the discharge phase
t4duration of the pause after the discharge
E0initial state of charge
