| qualifies a circuit element or a circuit for which the integral quantities are linearly related
NOTE 1 – A relation y = F(x) between two quantities x and y, where F is an operator, is linear if
F(α x1+ ß x2) = α F(x1) + ß F(x2)
where α and ß are real or complex numbers.
NOTE 2 – In English, the term "linear" has another meaning in IEV 112-03-14:2010 and 113-06-41:2011. In French, the equivalent term is "linéique".
